Tour to Tunguska Explosion site
We can propose the following options to those willing to discover this mysterious place on the Earth.
Vanavara - Kordon Pristan by MI-8 helicopter, ground excursion to the site of the explosion. Return to Vanavara by helicopter. Duration of one trip from Vanavara to Kordon Pristan: 55-60 minutes (round trip)
Motor boat trip from Vanavara to Kordon Pristan along the rivers Podkamennaya Tunguska, Chamba and Khushma. Excursions. Return rafting to Vanavara. Total distance covered: 200 km. This option is available only in the second half of May – first half of June, while water in the rivers is high enough for boating.
Air-Water: drop to Kordon Pristan by helicopter, excursions, rafting along Khushma and Chamba rivers to the river of Podkamennaya Tunguska (170 km). Trip to Vanavara by truck (30 km). Duration: 9 days, June-July;
Water-Trekking tour: boat trip to Kordon Vyezd (75 km), trekking along Kulik’s path (38 km), return to Vanavara same route. Duration: 15 days, June-August;
Ground trip: trekking Vanavara – Kordon Pristan along Kulik’s path (72 km). Excursions to Churgim waterfalls, Farrington Mountain (521.7 m high above the sea level), Southern Swamp, Lake Cheko. Duration: 12 days, June-September;
All trips to the area involve an air flight from Krasnoyarsk to Vanavara.
Best number of tourists: 5-10 people. The tours can be adjusted to personal requests. Cost of a helicopter rent – 86000 rubles per hour (in 2010). All Tunguska trips require advance arrangements and in most of cases cannot be organized upon your arrival to Krasnoyarsk. On the other hand if you contact us in advance we will be more than happy to arrange this trip.
